‘Avengers: Doomsday’: preview reveals Doctor Doom’s confrontation with Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men
Marvel Studios surprised San Diego Comic-Con attendees by showing never-before-seen footage from “Avengers: Doomsday.” The material, shown exclusively to fans in Hall H of the convention center, generated great expectations for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first scenes of the trailer show Victor Von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., sitting on a throne. The narration of Sue Storm, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman, reveals the villain’s complex history. She describes Doom as an individual who, despite always being the most intelligent, has experienced great losses and changed, indicating a complicated past with the Fantastic Four.

The video intersperses moments of action with the participation of several heroes. Quick appearances are seen from Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Cyclops (James Marsden), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Gambit (Channing Tatum), among other iconic characters. There is also an image of New York City in ruins, with Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, questioning Victor’s responsibility.
The villain, Doctor Doom, utters the phrase “You have all lived stolen lives.” Thor confronts him, but Doom demonstrates power by intercepting and throwing the hero’s magic hammer with ease. Using his mystical abilities, he fends off Thor and summons an army of Sentinel robots, known from the X-Men films, that emerge from the ground.
