Striker Jonathan Dubasin completed his transfer and is Osasuna’s newest addition, completing one of the most talked about negotiations of the European summer. Arriving from Sporting Gijón, the player arrives in Pamplona after a standout season with 17 goals and signed a contract valid until 2030, in a transaction valued at 4 million euros.
The team led by coach Luis Miguel Ramis guaranteed the signing of an athlete considered essential to strengthen their offensive sector. The formalization of the transfer was officially confirmed by the club after intense negotiations in the market, aiming to consolidate the squad for next season.
The Navarrese club will pay four million euros as a fixed amount for the Lleida winger, an amount that could grow with additional payments linked to the team’s permanence in the football elite. The player’s contractual relationship extends until June 23, 2030, with a release clause set at 40 million euros.
Dubasin’s breakthrough season in the second division
At 25 years old, Dubasin arrives at El Sadar coming from the best phase of his professional career. The striker was responsible for 17 goals and four assists wearing the Sporting shirt, establishing himself as one of the most decisive athletes in the Spanish Second Division. His agility, constant movement and ability to play in different attacking positions align perfectly with Luis Miguel Ramis’ tactical scheme.
Revealed in the youth categories of La Seu d’Urgell, the new member of Osasuna went through several youth formations in Andorra, Atlètic Segre and Girona. He then began a journey that included clubs such as Figueres, Costa Brava, Logroñés, Albacete, Basel (Switzerland), Oviedo and Sporting Gijón. Now, he fulfills his dream of ascending to La Liga, as he expressed when requesting his departure from Sporting Gijón. At Osasuna, his role will be to strengthen the right wing and expand the offensive alternatives for the coach.
Dubasin will join the squad at its pre-season training center, located in Norwich, England, on the afternoon of July 23, 2024. The athlete’s official presentation to the press will only take place after the team returns to its domains.
