The time has come to explore the magical universe of Flamecraft. The game’s demo is now available on the PlayStation Store, as announced on July 28, 2026. The full version of the title will be released later this year for PlayStation 5, promising a cozy experience for strategy fans.
The demo allows players to visit a selection of unique shops in the city, interact with Artisan Dragons and Elegant Dragons, face off against computer-controlled opponents across three difficulty levels, and even gather up to five friends for local multiplayer. To make it easier to get into the game, a complete tutorial explains the basics of being a Guardian of the Flame.
Understanding the Flamecraft universe
Mateusz Pokrzywniak, community manager at Monster Couch, expressed his pleasure in sharing the news with the PlayStation community, inviting everyone to explore the fantasy city of Flamecraft. The game’s backstory begins with an enigmatic letter, which narrates the player’s arrival in the city as a “Guardian of the Flame”, tasked with helping the Artisan Dragons develop a major project.
The game, also known for its board version, is a turn-based strategy title where Artisan Dragons and local shopkeepers collaborate in a magical and enchanting district. The Flame Keeper’s main role is to guide the dragons to their ideal lodges, where their magical abilities can be used to create crafts and enchant the locals.
Players will use dragon cards, manage resources and put together powerful combos with enchantments and Fantastic Dragons, each with unique attributes. It is crucial to remember that each dragon deployed and each store that appears in the city contributes to a shared system, accessible to all Guardians of the Flame, including their opponents. The city’s growth expands strategic possibilities, requiring careful planning to increase Reputation.
Each turn, the player decides whether to visit a store to collect resources or enchant it with magical artifacts. Enchanting a store activates all the dragons working there, combining their powers in rewarding sequences that reward strategic planning. Along the journey, it will be possible to make friends with Fantastic Dragons, whose special abilities and scoring chances can strengthen the strategy in search of the title of Master of the Art of Flame.
Strategies and opportunities for victory
Flamecraft offers several approaches to achieving victory, whether focusing on creating enchantment sequences or making the most of the Fantastic Dragons’ abilities. With a wide range of Crafted Dragons, unique shops, and settings that change with each playthrough, each game provides a new opportunity for experimentation and discovery.
Explore the available game modes
The title has three different ways to play: solo mode, local multiplayer with friends or computer-controlled opponents, and online multiplayer with Guardians of the Flame from around the world.
In Solo Mode, players can progress at their own pace, completing achievements that unlock parts of an original story. In it, dragons and townspeople work together to build a beacon, whose signal will guide Artisan Dragons from distant lands to a new home.
For those who prefer to interact with others, it is possible to set up a custom local match for up to five players sharing a single console. Alternatively, online multiplayer offers options for Quick Matches, Long Matches or Custom Online Games.
The fully narrated, interactive tutorial, voiced by Becca Scott, a well-known Good Time Society board game personality, guides players through the game mechanics step by step, introducing them to the world of Flamecraft. A small reward awaits those who complete it.
From the beginning, the developers’ goal was to create a welcoming, fun and comforting game. To bring this enchanting world to life, they developed a vibrant 3D city, filled with beautifully animated shops and characters, charismatic dragons, a quirky soundtrack and countless details that contribute to a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.
Mateusz Pokrzywniak concluded, expressing great pride in the team and everything that was done to make Flamecraft so special. For those who enjoy cozy strategy games or are looking for a touch of fantasy, the demo is now available to explore in the shopping district, where little dragons await.
