Studio Monster Couch has confirmed that the game Flamecraft will arrive on PlayStation 5 later this year, and a free demo is now available on the PlayStation Store. The information was released by Mateusz Pokrzywniak, the developer’s community manager, to the console’s public.

Players can experience the demo by visiting exclusive stores in the city, interacting with friendly Artisan and Fantasy Dragons, and challenging AI-controlled opponents across three difficulty levels. The trial version also offers a local multiplayer mode for up to five participants and a tutorial that teaches the fundamentals of how to be a Guardian of the Flame.

The essence of Flamecraft is revealed through the journey of a Flame Guardian who arrives in a small town full of magic. An old card, with smudged ink and slightly burned edges, serves as a reminder of the player’s purpose. The invitation is to guide artisan dragons in a large project, which involves the use of wood, stone and sheep, but which still requires a translator to fully understand its objectives.

This title is a cozy turn-based strategy game where little Artisan Dragons and local merchants collaborate in a magical shopping district. In the role of Guardian of the Flame, the player masters the ability to talk to dragons. Your main mission is to help these creatures find the ideal places to reside in the stores, allowing them to use their magic and enchant the inhabitants with their creations. As a game that prioritizes a relaxing atmosphere and creativity, it stands out for offering an immersive and inviting experience for all types of players, making strategy accessible and charming.

As a Guardian of the Flame, the participant will use dragon cards, manage resources and create powerful combos with enchantments and Fantasy Dragons, each with unique abilities. It is essential to remember that each dragon deployed and each new store established in the city integrates a shared engine, accessible to all Guardians, including opponents. The city’s growth expands opportunities, requiring strategy and careful planning to increase the player’s reputation.

Each round, the choice is between visiting a store to collect resources or enchanting it with magical artifacts. Enchanting an establishment activates all the dragons that work there, uniting their powers in rewarding combinations that reward strategic planning. During the journey, the player will befriend exceptional Fantasy Dragons, whose unique abilities and scoring opportunities can boost their strategy in pursuit of the coveted title of Flamecraft Master.

Several routes lead to victory in the game, whether focusing on creating enchantment sequences or making the most of the Fantasy Dragons’ capabilities. The wide variety of Artisan Dragons, the abundance of unique shops, and the unique setup of each match ensure that every encounter offers a new opportunity to try different approaches.

Flamecraft offers three distinct game modes: a solo mode, local matches with friends or artificial intelligence opponents, and the option to play online with other Guardians of the Flame from anywhere in the world.

Solo mode allows players to progress at their own pace, completing achievements that unlock parts of an original narrative. This story follows dragons and villagers as they work to realize an ambitious collective dream: building a lighthouse whose glow will guide Artisan Dragons from distant lands to a place they can finally call home.

For those who prefer to interact with others, it is possible to set up a personalized local game with friends, family and robot opponents, supporting up to five players on a single console. Alternatively, online multiplayer offers options for quick matchmaking, long matchmaking, or custom online matches.

For players who feel there is a lot to learn, the game includes a fully narrated interactive tutorial. Becca Scott, well-known personality in the world of board games and creator of Good Time Society, lends her voice to guide participants step by step through the mechanics and introduce the enchanting universe of Flamecraft. A small reward awaits those who complete the learning.

From the beginning of development, the team aimed to create a welcoming, happy and wholesome game that is accessible to everyone. To bring this enchanting world to life, they built a vibrant 3D city, filled with exquisitely animated shops and characters, lively dragons, a whimsical soundtrack, and countless little details that provide a sense of comfort and relaxation.
