On July 30, 2026, Real Madrid formalized the arrival of young talent Carlos Espí, a 21-year-old striker from Levante. The Spanish team confirmed the transfer of the player, who signed a contract valid until 2031.

Carlos Espí played in 66 matches for Levante and had a remarkable performance, especially in the most recent edition of La Liga, where he scored 13 goals in 27 matches. His outstanding performance resulted in him being named the best under-23 player in the competition last season.

The striker, who was revealed in Levante’s own youth categories, joins the Real Madrid squad with the aim of strengthening the attack. The expectation is that Espí will fill the position that was left open with the departure of Gonzalo, who transferred to Fulham.

The arrival of Carlos Espí in attack, however, raises questions about Endrick’s future and place at Real Madrid. The Brazilian athlete returned to the club recently, after participating in the World Cup with the Brazilian team.

In the last period, Endrick faced difficulties establishing himself under the command of Xabi Alonso and was loaned to Lyon at the beginning of 2026. In France, the striker ended his stay with a balance of eight goals and nine assists in 21 games.

Gonzalo, whose place will now go to Carlos Espí, was considered Endrick’s main opponent in the fight for a position in Real Madrid’s attack. Both play as center forwards, but the Spaniard had an advantage, being two years older and trained at the club’s own academy.
