On July 27, 2026, sheriff’s deputies in Colorado were called to a “report of a break-in” at a residence. Upon arriving at the scene, the agents came across an unusual scene: two bear cubs were responsible for the “invasion”.
The curious scene was captured on video and shared by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on social media. The images showed the little bears exploring the interior of the house, located in Roxborough, while feeding on cat food.
According to the official publication, the police found that the two curious brothers had accessed the property through a window that was open. They were there to “explore the house,” as local authorities described it.
After the discovery, teams from the Colorado Department of Parks and Wildlife were called in to provide support. Together, the professionals and agents helped remove the puppies from the residence, ensuring that they returned safely to the nearby forest.
Authorities took advantage of the occasion to reinforce an important warning to the population: “Please be aware of bears! We have had several encounters with bears recently,” officials said. To prevent situations like this from recurring, they advise residents to adopt preventive measures, such as storing trash in safe places, removing bird feeders, keeping pet food indoors and always locking doors and windows on the ground floor.
