Sean Diddy Combs’ federal prison sentence was once again reduced, bringing the music mogul’s release forward to January 24, 2028. The information was confirmed by the Federal Department of Prisons, which recorded the change in its systems.

This new date of January 24, 2028 represents an anticipation of the music mogul’s freedom from previous predictions. The reduction accumulates to a total of approximately five months of sentence, since, initially, the expectation for his release was in June 2028, and last month, it had been postponed to February 2028.

Combs’ legal representative, who is 56, did not promptly respond to press requests for comment.

Participation in a rehabilitation program and preferred defense location

People magazine had reported, during the sentence reduction in December, that the businessman participates in a rehabilitation program for drug addicts in federal prison. At the time, the publication also reported that Combs’ legal team had a preference for FCI Fort Dix, a minimum security unit located in New Jersey, due to the availability of treatment and its proximity to his family.

In October, federal prosecutors sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison. The decision came after an extensive public court case, with serious allegations of sexual assault and other violent acts. He was found guilty of two counts of transporting prostitutes between states for sexual encounters with drug use, so-called “freak-offs”. However, jurors acquitted him of extortion and sex trafficking charges.

Prison fight incident and artist’s isolation

Combs’ sentence reduction was announced a week after TMZ reported that the musician was involved in a fight with another inmate. According to the portal, the other prisoner had provoked Combs, which led to a push and shove and an exchange of punches. Corrections officers intervened, separating the two, and Combs was sent to solitary confinement.

A spokesperson for Combs also did not immediately comment on the alleged confrontation at the prison.
