Goalkeeper Vozinha, Cape Verde’s standout player in the 2026 World Cup, is in the advanced negotiation phase to join Moroccan club Berkane. The change of plans comes after the 40-year-old player was officially announced by Colo-Colo, from Chile, on July 24, 2026, but is now reconsidering the transfer to the Moroccan team, according to journalist Raphael Bózeo.
Colo-Colo had confirmed the signing of Vozinha on July 24, 2026, publishing a welcome image with the message “Welcome, we are waiting for you at Estádio Monumental” on its digital platforms. However, in recent weeks, the goalkeeper postponed his arrival in Chile on three occasions, which generated uncertainty and questions about the implementation of the agreement.
Initially, Vozinha’s arrival in Santiago was scheduled for a specific date, but the landing was postponed. Subsequently, a new date was established and, once again, the schedule had to be changed. Even though he was expected to arrive at a third time, the goalkeeper did not appear in the Chilean capital.
Currently, expectations are focused on Vozinha’s arrival in Morocco, where he should sign a contract with Berkane. The Moroccan club is already in advanced negotiations with coach Bubista, former captain of Cape Verde in the World Cup, and plans to present an official offer to the goalkeeper as soon as the agreement with the coach is finalized. Journalist Raphael Bózeo reported that Vozinha is awaiting this proposal to make its final decision.
