Striker Yan Diomande has returned to activities with RB Leipzig, while his future remains surrounded by uncertainty regarding a possible transfer to Real Madrid. The player is at the center of a complex negotiation, awaiting definitions.
According to previously released information, the 19-year-old athlete has an imminent agreement with the Spanish club, involving a transaction worth 100 million euros, which is equivalent to around R$592 million at the current price. However, the process is at a standstill due to a dispute between Maxidel Management, his former management company, and Roc Nation, the new company that manages the Ivorian’s career, led by Jay-Z.
The controversy between the agencies concerns participation in the player representation committee. This conflict prevents the issuance of the International Transfer Certificate, a mandatory FIFA document for the regularization of athletes in foreign leagues. This type of contract dispute is a common obstacle in high-profile negotiations, often delaying the insertion of young talents into new teams and impacting the start of their international careers.
Despite the judicial and administrative obstacle, RB Leipzig’s general director, Marcel Schäfer, expressed that the problem should not be a determining factor in the possible cancellation of the striker’s negotiation.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Schäfer said the change in Diomande’s agent would not represent a significant impediment to the transaction. “From my point of view, a clear no… There has been a change of agent, our contact person, as Yan clearly informed us, is from Roc Nation,” said the manager.
The general director ended his statements by expressing skepticism about the impact of the dispute on the transfer. “I don’t believe that a transfer would fail because of this… If it ever comes to fruition”, he concluded about the case.
