An unexpected gust of wind intervened and apparently spared the life of an elderly man in China. The hat he was wearing was blown off by a gust, making him go after the object. A few moments after he walked away, an electric vehicle collided with the tricycle he was using.
The incident occurred on July 17, in the city of Shangqiu, located in Henan province. Recordings of the moment recorded the elderly man stopping his tricycle near trash bins, with the intention of collecting bottles and other items for recycling.
While he was carrying out his collection task, a sudden strong draft of air knocked the hat off his head, causing it to fall directly onto the street.
The man immediately ran to get his hat, leaving the tricycle parked. Within a few seconds, a car collided with the back of the tricycle, propelling it to the other side of the road.
Completely unaware of the collision, the elderly man continued his search for the hat. The scenes of the event were widely publicized by Chinese news portals.
