A newly released image, dated August 4, 2026, offers confirmation that the “Pixel Glow” feature, expected for the Pixel 11 line, will be officially called “HiLight”. The new information also details some of the features expected for this new feature.
In recent months, the term “Pixel Glow” has appeared on several occasions, including in official Google previews, showing an LED system. The proposal is to replace the conventional flash with a light capable of changing its colors instantly. However, the company had not provided details about its capabilities until now.
Researcher Roland Quandt published a promotional image on Bluesky that appears to be official for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. In it, the “HiLight” feature is highlighted alongside the device’s brand, solidifying the name that will replace the previous “Pixel Glow” designation.
The HiLight functionality, as described, will allow the user to receive information without having to look directly at the screen. The system will light up discreetly when the smartphone is facing down and there are calls from priority contacts or conversations with the Gemini artificial intelligence.
This description aligns perfectly with preliminary information about the feature, which emerged in April.
There is still no clarity on all the innovations that Google may introduce with “HiLight” on the Pixel 11. However, full details are expected to be revealed soon, with the Pixel 11 series launch event scheduled to take place in just over a week.
