PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro receive update with standard PSSR 2.0 and connectivity adjustments
Sony has started distributing invitations to the testing phase of the next PlayStation 5 firmware update. Selected users are receiving access codes via email, allowing them to explore first-hand the news and improvements coming to the brand’s consoles.

One of the main features announced by Sony in the press releases is the automatic activation of “PSSR Image Quality Enhancement” on the PlayStation 5 Pro. With the system software update, this setting will be turned on by default. PSSR 2.0 will also be applied to games that already supported the previous version of artificial intelligence visual enhancement technology, providing an even sharper graphical experience. For those who wish to disable the feature, the option will be available in Settings, in the “Screen and Video” menu, “Video Output” and, finally, “PSSR Image Quality Enhancement”.

In addition to the visual improvements, the new update introduces other modifications for the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro consoles in some regions. Activating the “Disable Bluetooth” option, for example, will prevent the console from going into rest mode and will also nullify compatibility with HDMI connectivity. Sony informed that this feature is intended for managing controller connections in specific locations, such as eSports arenas, and that its use for other purposes is not recommended. Finally, the company stated that the overall performance and stability of the system software has been improved.
