Wagner Moura makes his return to streaming with an international production ten months after the release of “The Secret Agent”. The Brazilian actor stars in “The Last House”, a science fiction thriller that arrives on Netflix in the early hours of August 7th.
The cast includes the participation of Greta Lee, nominated for a Golden Globe for “Past Lives” and recognized for work in “The Morning Show”, “Toy Story 5” and “Tron: Ares”. The direction is by Louis Leterrier, known for hits such as “Trick of the Master” and “Fast & Furious 10”.
In a conversation with the Netflix portal, Wagner Moura revealed that the film’s plot aroused his interest as he imagined how he himself would react in the characters’ situation, a reflection that the public will be able to share. The actor’s presence in yet another large-scale international production solidifies his growing global projection in cinema and streaming.
“I thought about how my own family would react and deal with something like this. It made me connect deeply with the tension of the film and the character,” said the actor about his experience.
The narrative of “The Last House” revolves around a mysterious and supernatural rain that confines Jason and Ann, along with their two children, inside their residence. With the depletion of essential resources, the family must face a fight for survival, transforming coexistence into a constant challenge against an imminent threat to its future.
