PC gamers’ preference for new graphics cards points to a specific Nvidia model that has seen the biggest growth in adoption, according to data released by Steam. The July 2026 analysis reveals a clear trend: the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 had an increase of 0.33% in just one month in its configurations, now reaching 3.62% of the total market share and positioning itself in fourth place in the overall ranking, very close to the leaders in the hardware sector.

Players demonstrated a clear choice when upgrading their computers, prioritizing the best relationship between cost and benefit. Official information published on Steam Hardware Survey indicates that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 is the fastest growing GPU. The desktop version of the card reached 3.62% market share, positioning itself just behind the top three, a position that has historically been hotly contested.

Its immediate successor, the RTX 5060, also showed significant growth, with the second biggest increase of the month (+0.22%), reaching 3.03% of the market share. In third place among the cards with the highest growth is the RTX 5060 Ti, which achieved a gain of 0.14%, representing 2.40% of the total.

The remarkable advancement of these three 5000 series graphics cards reflects a large-scale renewal among enthusiasts, who are gradually moving from older architectures to the latest rendering technologies. This dynamic indicates that gamers were waiting for a real leap in performance before investing, without necessarily looking for high-end cards that often have discouraging prices.

Analysis of the RTX 5070 configuration and its performance in the market

The enthusiasm for the RTX 5070 is due to a technical specification perfectly adapted to current requirements. Built on the Blackwell architecture, the card offers 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, providing significantly greater bandwidth compared to the previous generation, allowing it to handle high-definition textures more efficiently.

Its thermal consumption, limited to 250 W, makes it easy to integrate into most PC cases, eliminating the need to replace a standard-sized power supply for installation.

Compared to the RTX 5080, a superior model that costs more than 1,100 euros, the RTX 5070 costs approximately 650 euros. This means it offers around 80% of the performance of a high-end GPU for half the price, justifying its growing popularity in the gaming community.

Flawless gaming experience with RTX 5070 at different resolutions

When it comes to performance, the RTX 5070 is capable of fluidly running all the latest and most demanding games available on the market. It is designed to master 1440p (2560 x 1440) resolution, which remains the ideal choice for combining visual accuracy and high refresh rates for gamers.

In very demanding gaming environments, such as those managed by Unreal Engine 5 or titles that use full Ray Tracing, such as Cyberpunk 2077, the graphics card maintains a remarkable level of fluidity and stability.

The inclusion of new Tensor Cores and AI-assisted imaging technology allows the card to consistently exceed 100 frames per second. The RTX 5070 still offers stunning 4K UHD resolution on compatible displays, solidifying its status as one of the most versatile cards for years to come.

Performance and value differences between the RTX 5070 and RTX 5080

Although the RTX 5070 stands out as the leader in terms of cost-benefit ratio, it naturally performs worse than the powerful RTX 5080 when the objective is to push performance to the maximum limit. With its 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a 256-bit memory bus, the high-end model maintains a comfortable advantage of approximately 35% to 50% in raw rendering.

The main limitation of the RTX 5070 lies in its 12 GB memory capacity and 192-bit interface; Although it is excellent at 1440p, running games at native 4K with Path Tracing enabled can cause bottlenecks due to very large texture packs if not supported by DLSS.

While the 5080 is aimed at users looking for native displays with ultra-high refresh rates (180 Hz or higher) or content creators working with dense 3D scenes, the 5070 remains the more practical choice for the average gamer. Furthermore, the RTX 5080 recorded a price increase of just 0.09% among users on the Steam platform.
