A driver with an inactive National Driving License (CNH) for four years was arrested after colliding his vehicle against a pole and driving forward without control in Anápolis, in the state of Goiás. The individual showed clear signs of drunkenness, according to reports from the Goiás Military Police (PMGO), and confessed to having consumed “three cans”. The incident occurred on August 9.
During the recording of a video by a military police officer who was dealing with the case, the suspect admitted to having been drinking, but refused to take a breathalyzer test at the scene.
When asked by the agent about the amount of alcohol consumed, the man stated: “I had about three cans with my friend there.”
The driver added that he did not notice the roundabout where the collision with the pole occurred.
Due to his refusal to blow the breathalyzer, the man was taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), where a clinical examination was carried out. Medical analysis confirmed changes in his psychomotor capacity.
The Goiás Military Police (PMGO) also reported that the vehicle being driven had had its licensing overdue since 2019, and that the driver’s driver’s license had expired in July 2022.
After procedures at the IML, the suspect was taken to the Flagrant Center. There, he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances, in accordance with article 306 of the Brazilian Traffic Code, which deals exactly with this infraction.
