The long-awaited complete edition of Ghost of Yōtei will arrive on PlayStation 5 on October 1st, bringing with it a series of innovations. Players will be able to explore all-new story expansions, a challenging single-player survival mode, and enhanced usability features, which will be available with Patch 2.0 on October 2. André Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch Productions, shared the excitement over the new details.
The development team made a point of thanking the entire community for their dedicated support since the game’s original release. Expressing great pride in the fans’ passion, Sucker Punch Productions highlighted the monitoring of various events, such as fan arts, cosplays, virtual photos and battle videos. The release of Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will coincide with the title’s first anniversary, and the studio is looking forward to players’ future creations.
More information will be released in the coming weeks, but a detailed preview of the main content that will be part of ‘Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition’ has already been revealed.
Discovering the new story expansion: Echoes of Sekigahara
The story expansion titled “Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara” promises an engaging plot that alternates between the past and present. Players will experience flashbacks of Atsushi on the mainland and, in the present time, the journey will take her to meet Nagato, a figure connected to her history, in Ezo, Hokkaido. Exploration of the present will reveal a pristine valley, home to “Snake” and his loyal “Poison Viper Group.” The past will cover Atsushi’s participation in the Battle of Sekigahara and the crucial events that preceded his return to seek revenge. The content will also feature confrontations with new enemies, as well as new heavy weapons, armor and customization options.

Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted offers challenging survival mode
Another new feature is “Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted”, an exclusive single-player survival and combat mode that integrates roguelike elements. Challenges will arise by accepting reward missions, where players can gain advantages by defeating opponents and unlocking additional playable characters. While more details will be released soon, the recent trailer has already demonstrated the specialties of Atsushi with dual swords, Oyuki with chain scythes, and Nagato with spears. The studio’s expectation is to see players’ creativity dominating the new battles.
For new players, the “Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition” will be available for 8,980 yen, tax included. This version encompasses the acclaimed base game “Ghost of Yōtei”, the expansions “Echoes of Sekigahara” and “Most Wanted”, and the free additional content “Legends”, which supports online co-op for up to four participants in the Great Calamity. When purchasing the Complete Edition, the main game and “Legends” will be immediately accessible, while “Echoes of Sekigahara” and “Most Wanted” will be integrated with the October 2nd update. The complete edition also comes with all content from the “Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition” and the “Pole Star Talisman.” Those who purchase by September 30th will have the opportunity to unlock the “Sakai Family Armor”, which can be equipped by Atsushi from October 2nd, and which is reminiscent of Jin’s iconic family armor in “Ghost of Tsushima”.
Players who already own “Ghost of Yōtei” can opt for the “Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade”, which will cost 1,480 yen including tax. This upgrade grants access to the “Echoes of Sekigahara” and “Most Wanted” expansions. Additionally, if the player does not have the Digital Deluxe Edition or the “North Star Talisman”, these items will be automatically unlocked with the pre-order. Booking by September 30th, “Sakai Family Armor” will be released in advance from October 2nd.

A new soundtrack will be added to “Watanabe Mode”, accessible after activation. The package will include new stamps for Photo Mode, extra equipment for New Game+ and a collection of new trophies related to “Echoes of Sekigahara” and “Most Wanted”.
Owners of the base game “Ghost of Yōtei”, even without purchasing the upgrade, will be able to enjoy the “Beauty of Yōtei” mode with the new patch arriving on October 2nd. This mode allows you to contemplate Ezo’s landscapes as a relaxing screensaver, with the option to capture photos in photo mode. Additionally, the update will implement features to enhance usability, such as the flexibility to match the aesthetics of one armor set with the performance of another, and new high-contrast accessibility settings.
The team reiterated its gratitude to the players for the extraordinary year since the premiere of “Ghost of Yōtei”. More detailed information about “Echoes of Sekigahara” and “Most Wanted” will be shared soon as the October 2 release approaches, inviting fans to stay tuned for updates.
