Apple has released the fifth beta version of iOS 27, aimed at developers, as part of the company’s summer testing schedule. This evaluation phase precedes the official launch of the operating system for the general public, scheduled for next month.

The technology giant has released the fifth test version for iOS 27 developers.

This latest developer beta can be accessed directly from the Settings app on supported iPhones. For Apple Developer Program members, simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and select the iOS 27 option.

The beta version that was released today will likely be the basis for iOS 27 public beta 3. The final, stable edition of the software is expected to be released to all users the following month.

It is important to note that, as is common with software in the beta phase, users may encounter glitches, reduced battery life, compatibility difficulties with some applications and other imperfections. Installation is only recommended for developers, who can deal with these potential problems without compromising the daily usability of the device.

iOS 27 represents one of Apple’s biggest forays into artificial intelligence for the iPhone to date. The main innovation is Siri AI, a redesign of Apple’s virtual assistant, now powered by next-generation Apple Intelligence and advanced Apple Foundation models.

With this evolution, Siri now offers deeper interactions, greater insight into personal context, expanded global knowledge, on-screen recognition capabilities, and the execution of more complex actions within applications across the entire operating system.

On iPhone, Siri also gains a new visual interface, integrated with Dynamic Island, and an exclusive application that allows users to revisit previous conversations on different devices.

Visual Intelligence is also incorporated into Siri, bringing a new assistant mode to the Camera app and optimizations that directly impact Camera Control on the iPhone.

Apple’s artificial intelligence is being expanded to other applications. iOS 27 implements AI-driven improvements in several areas, including Photos, Safari, Passwords, Mail, Messages, Phone, Shortcuts, Home and many others. As explained by Apple, some of these features operate directly on the device, while others use private cloud computing.

Other innovations and changes present in iOS 27

In addition to improvements to Siri and the integration of Apple’s artificial intelligence, iOS 27 introduces several other changes specific to the iPhone. The company has improved the Liquid Glass design, introduced last year, with the addition of a new transparency slider to customize the appearance of the system interface.

Performance optimizations have also been implemented, covering application launch speed, photo loading, activating the camera in low power mode, AirDrop transfers and transitioning between Wi-Fi and mobile data connections.

Among the other features added to the iPhone are the inclusion of keywords and star ratings in the Photos app, the creation of customizable slideshows, more fluid camera behavior, the ability to send continuously in the Messages app, the Dual Capture feature in FaceTime, a custom equalizer for AirPods, new system recovery options, easier card switching in Apple Pay and the ability to create wallpapers generated by artificial intelligence.
