Michigan serial killings result in six deaths, including US suspect
At least six people lost their lives, including the main suspect, in a series of murders in the state of Michigan, in the United States. A vast search operation was carried out on August 14, 2026, covering two residences and a forest area in the region, according to information released by the police.
Authorities were called just before noon to respond to a call of a shooting at a home in Missaukee County, approximately 170 miles (272 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. At the scene, they found three lifeless victims and one person in serious condition, who was immediately rescued and taken to a hospital. The information was confirmed in a statement by the Michigan State Police.
The suspect in the crimes, Chad Hickman, 39, had already fled the scene before police teams arrived.

During the intense sweep carried out by security forces in search of the fugitive, a fourth person was found dead in another residence in the locality.
In a post on Platform X, police issued a warning to the population, indicating that Hickman was considered armed and dangerous, and instructed residents not to approach him under any circumstances.
Hickman’s vehicle was later located in a wooded area near Lake Whitlock. The discovery of the car led agents to the suspect’s body and also to that of another person, who was also dead.

Although the initial investigation focused on a shooting, authorities have not yet released details about the cause of death for each of the victims, nor have they confirmed whether there was any type of relationship between them. The absence of concrete information intensifies the challenge for researchers and for community understanding.
“This situation is heartbreaking for the community and presents a significant challenge for the investigators involved,” Lt. Ashley Miller said in a statement. She reinforced the corporation’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and promised to provide updates as new information becomes available.
The police continue to investigate the murders and asked the public to avoid the area where the events occurred, in order to facilitate the work of forensic and security teams.
The names and ages of the victims have not yet been officially released. The release of this information will only be made after formal notification of the families involved, following the protocol of local authorities.
