Saudi Arabia advances in the construction of the Jeddah Tower, the future tallest building in the world
The construction of what will be the tallest building in the world, the JEC Tower in Saudi Arabia, is approaching completion. The architectural project, which is underway in the busy port city of Jeddah, includes the highest observation point available to the public.
The tower’s design was designed by architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. The building, previously called Kingdom Tower and Jeddah Tower, is the centerpiece of a new urban development plan in Jeddah, offering a luxury hotel, office space and sumptuous apartments, in addition to the aforementioned record-breaking observation deck.

This imposing skyscraper is part of a series of “gigaprojects” in Saudi Arabia, aiming to transform the country into a global tourist hub and diversify its economy. Unlike other proposals, such as “The Line” and “Mukaab”, which had their scales reduced or were cancelled, the JEC Tower is making solid progress after a period of delays, demonstrating the Saudi government’s commitment to realizing this ambitious undertaking.
