Hybrid SUV Omoda 4 debuts global sales and promises to be an affordable option
The new Omoda 4 compact SUV had its global debut in Indonesia on August 15, 2026, with a confirmed launch for the Brazilian market in the last quarter of the same year. Part of the Chery group, the model will be one of Omoda Jaecoo’s main launches in the country and aims to be the only entry-level vehicle in its segment to offer a full hybrid engine (HEV) with a high-voltage battery.
Strategic importance for the brand in the national market
The arrival of Omoda 4 is seen as a fundamental step in boosting Omoda Jaecoo’s operations in Brazil. The vehicle has the potential to become the brand’s most affordable in the country, occupying an estimated price range between R$120,000 and R$140,000. This combination of competitive price and advanced hybrid technology should position it as one of the company’s highest-selling models here. For the consumer, the offer of a full hybrid compact SUV at this price represents an economical and sustainable alternative, differentiating itself from other models that, in their more equipped versions, exceed the R$140,000 barrier.

Competition and size differences in the segment
The Omoda 4 enters a segment of intense competition, where it will face strong rivals such as Volkswagen Tera, Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian, Chevrolet Sonic and Jeep Avenger. To stand out, the SUV is larger than its direct competitors, measuring 4.40 meters in length. This measurement places it slightly below the Omoda 5, but interestingly it aligns with the dimensions of the Jeep Compass, a mid-range model. The wheelbase of the Omoda 4 is 2.62 meters, contributing to the internal space.

Full hybrid technology is the Omoda 4’s greatest asset
The main innovation of the Omoda 4 is the introduction of full hybrid powertrain (HEV) in the entry-level compact SUV segment in Brazil. This technology, which combines a combustion engine with an electric one, promises greater efficiency and lower consumption. The system will feature a 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine, which delivers 130 horsepower, and an auxiliary electric motor. Together, they should generate a combined torque of 22.9 kgfm, which would make it the compact SUV with the highest torque on the market. Initially, the system will only run on gasoline, but there are plans for a flex option from 2027, according to Omoda Jaecoo’s national development schedule.
Bold design and interior features of the SUV
Visually, the Omoda 4 displays lines inspired by the Lamborghini Urus, with tapered LED headlights and an aggressive cutout that extends to the front bumper. The rear follows the style of the Omoda 7, with interconnected taillights with an exclusive design. The model name, initially Omoda 3, was changed to Omoda 4, seeking greater alignment with the brand’s portfolio. Inside, the highlight is a vertical multimedia center, positioned next to a compact digital instrument panel. Among the expected equipment, especially in the more expensive versions, are an electronic parking brake, leather seats and an induction cell phone charger. Despite sharing components with other vehicles in the group, such as the steering wheel of the old Caoa Chery Tiggo 3X, the ambient LED lighting adds a touch of sophistication to the compact.
National manufacturing to boost competitiveness
To strengthen its market position and increase competitiveness, the Omoda 4 will be produced locally in Brazil. The regime adopted will be CKD (Completely Knock-Down), where the components are imported from China and assembled in the national territory. According to information from the automotive sector, the factory chosen for this operation is JLR, located in Itatiaia, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This strategy reinforces Omoda Jaecoo’s commitment to the development and adaptation of its vehicles for the Brazilian public.
