Samsung’s next Fan Edition cell phone, the Galaxy S26 FE, had practically all of its details exposed in recent leaks. Images and specifications released provide a complete overview of the device before its official launch.

For those who follow the smartphone industry closely, the arrival of a new device from Samsung’s Fan Edition line was already expected this year. The expectation was that its design and technical specifications would be heavily inspired by the Galaxy S25 FE, launched the previous year.

However, many still hoped that the Galaxy S26 FE would bring some significant change compared to its predecessor. The most recently leaked reports and promotional images, however, confirm that this hope for major innovations is unlikely to come to fruition.

Leaked Galaxy S26 FE specs show little new

Although no information is official, the details obtained from sources considered reliable, and supported by promotional images that appear authentic, provide a very familiar technical sheet of the new smartphone:

  • 6.7-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate
  • Samsung Exynos 2500 3nm ten-core processor
  • 50MP rear main camera
  • Secondary 12MP ultra-wide lens
  • 8MP telephoto sensor
  • 12MP front camera
  • 4,900mAh battery
  • 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 fast charging capability
  • Seven guaranteed operating system updates and seven years of security patches
  • IP68 certified water and dust resistance
  • Gorilla Glass Victus+ screen protection
  • Dimensions 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm
  • Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio color options

Even though this data is not formally confirmed by the manufacturer, the amount of consistent information, added to the leaked images, suggests a high probability that the technical sheet is accurate. Many of the details had already been corroborated by other respected publications.

With this, it is almost certain that the Galaxy S26 FE will look practically identical to the S25 FE. The screen, battery capacity, charging technology and camera array will remain the same, with the main difference being a newer and more powerful chipset.

The Exynos 2500 processor, which is powerful and energy efficient, is the S26 FE’s most notable and predictable upgrade. Furthermore, the device will arrive with a new version of the operating system and some color options with more attractive names.

Samsung’s marketing strategies for the new Galaxy S26 FE

While marketing isn’t the main focus when looking at a new smartphone, the Galaxy S26 FE’s similarity to the S25 FE raises questions about how Samsung will try to promote the new device’s limited strengths.

Based on more than twenty leaked promotional images, Samsung, one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, is expected to focus its campaign on new camera features enabled by Galaxy AI artificial intelligence. These same features will also be present in other models in the Galaxy S26 family.

The company will also highlight the S26 FE’s long-term software support, excellent battery life (with up to 29 hours of continuous video playback), and its durable construction. The marketing strategy should also include comparisons with older models, such as the Galaxy S21 FE and the Galaxy A53. This tactic, often employed by manufacturers, seeks to highlight the brand’s evolution over time, disguising the absence of major innovations in direct comparison with the immediately previous model, the S25 FE.

The future of the Galaxy S26 FE: success or disappointment in the market?

It is still too early to predict the fate of the S26 FE, mainly because rumors about its price have not yet been confirmed. However, if the Galaxy S26 Fan Edition is launched in the US starting at $699, in its basic configuration with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM, it will be difficult to justify the purchase in relation to the Galaxy S25 FE.

Even though the S25 FE is expected to be discontinued soon, it’s worth considering if you find it at a good discount, between $100 and $150. Otherwise, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus models are also good alternatives, especially with their recently reduced prices.

Additionally, the market offers other options such as Google’s Pixel 10a, which may be more modest but is significantly more affordable, and the Pixel 10, if available at a competitive price. There is a wide range of cost-effective 5G phones to consider before choosing the Galaxy S26 FE, which, in its current form, doesn’t seem to bring any major differences.
