Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum True Wireless 5 wireless headphones, a new generation of its premium product that promises significant innovations. The main highlight is the ability to replace batteries by users themselves, a feature that goes against the trend of planned obsolescence in the electronics market. The devices will be available from September 3rd.

This feature, which covers both the headphones and the charging case, allows consumers to change them in a few minutes, requiring only a compact screwdriver. The initiative aims to increase the useful life of the product, offering more autonomy and reducing premature disposal. This is an important differentiator in a segment where battery durability is often a critical point.

Extended autonomy and fast charging

In addition to the replaceable battery, the new line of headphones also offers superior usage autonomy. On a single charge, the headphones can work for up to 12 hours, while the case increases this time to a total of 40 hours of playback. For moments of urgency, the fast charging system guarantees approximately an additional hour of music with just eight minutes plugged in. This combination of long life and ease of recharging makes for a seamless usage experience.

Redesigned design for greater comfort

The Momentum True Wireless 5 has received a significant redesign to its form factor. The headphones now feature a thinner body compared to the previous generation, promising a more discreet and comfortable fit. Sennheiser describes this experience as a fit that “practically disappears into the ear”, with testing indicating that 73% of participants preferred the new shape. The charging case has also been optimized, making it narrower to make it easier to carry in pockets.

AI-enhanced noise cancellation

Voice calls have been enhanced with an artificial intelligence-based speech algorithm that seeks to optimize the clarity of conversations. The active noise cancellation (ANC) system has also undergone an update and now operates in conjunction with four microphones, providing greater efficiency in suppressing external sounds. The model also offers a real-time transparency mode, designed to sound more natural and allow the user to hear the environment when necessary.

Sound personalization and spatial audio

For those looking for a personalized sound experience, the headphones’ dedicated app has an equalizer that allows fine adjustments. Additionally, the Momentum True Wireless 5 supports spatial audio, using accelerometers to track head position. This technology aims to create a deeper and more immersive sound immersion.

Price and availability of the new Sennheiser headphones

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 will be available on the market from September 3rd. Consumers will be able to choose from five color options. The launch price announced for the United States is US$300, which is equivalent to approximately R$1,557 at the current price. This launch reinforces the brand’s commitment to innovation and user experience.
