Striker Barcola, previously a Paris Saint-Germain player, is officially Liverpool’s latest reinforcement for the 2026/27 season. The English club formalized the signing of the athlete on August 31, 2026, in a negotiation that reached 120 million pounds, equivalent to approximately R$839 million.
In his first statements as a Liverpool player, Barcola expressed great satisfaction with the new challenge. “It took a long time, but I’m very happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play. I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League, which is one of my biggest dreams in my life”, said the player, highlighting his expectations and objectives with the red shirt.
Barcola’s arrival represents the second most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, underlining the club’s significant investment in the market. The value of the deal is second only to the acquisition of Alexander Isak, who joined the team from Newcastle the previous year for a fixed fee of £125 million, with the possibility of an additional £5 million in bonuses.
Barcola ends a three-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain, during which he played 152 matches. Last season, the striker was present in 49 games, registering 13 goals and six assists, a performance that helped the French team secure their second Champions League title.
In addition to the French athlete, Liverpool had already made other important acquisitions for the current season, demonstrating an aggressive strategy in the transfer market. Young defender Jeremy Jacquet was signed from Rennes for €70 million, and Spanish attacking midfielder Víctor Muñoz arrived from Osasuna in a €40 million deal. The club also secured the loan of Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo, who belonged to Barcelona.
