Player Richarlison used his digital platforms to express his feelings regarding his professional future on August 31, 2026.
Through a post on his Instagram account, the Tottenham striker made clear his desire to return to Everton, the club he considers his “heart team”.
“After all the experiences of recent years, I made the decision that my future will no longer be determined by others. I have experienced many difficult situations during this period, almost all of them resulting from other people’s choices. Pressure, threats, retaliation, none of this scares me. I have faced worse things… believe me!”, declared Richarlison.
“I have always been transparent, on all occasions, that a possible change of team would also need to be advantageous for the club. Otherwise, I would never accept it, just as I did not accept it when the situation here was critical and my presence was requested. I stayed and dedicated myself fully. Therefore, I hope that my situation is treated with the same respect that I have always shown to Spurs and everyone who worked with me. Just don’t want to decide for me”, continued the athlete.
“If there is a consensus between Spurs and Everton, I will return to my favorite team. My true intention was, in fact, to return to the place where I found great happiness. However, the discussions were being conducted according to the wishes of third parties, and this will no longer happen in this way. Despite this turmoil, I maintain my relationship with Tottenham and will be available for the club”, concluded the striker.
Information obtained behind the scenes reveals that representatives from Tottenham and Everton are in dialogue regarding a possible agreement, but, so far, no proposal has been formalized.
The London club, known as Spurs, would be interested in receiving approximately 30 million pounds, which is equivalent to around 210 million reais. However, there is an internal consensus that it is unlikely that Tottenham will obtain an offer that reaches this level.
During a press conference held on August 29, following the defeat against Newcastle, coach Roberto De Zerbi stated that Richarlison expressed his desire to leave the club. The same request was made by players Pape Matar Sarr and Kevin Danso.
“Regarding Richarlison, I’m not sure… He told me several times about his intention to leave. Danso came to me two days ago with the same desire to leave. And Pape Sarr had a similar situation, but suffered an injury just when he was about to resume training”, reported the Italian coach.
“I love these athletes, they are fantastic individuals. I have an excellent relationship with them. However, if they want to leave the club, they need to present a financial solution for the team. This way, they can leave and we will look for new players”, added the commander.
Richarlison joined Tottenham in 2022, shortly after his departure from Everton. The striker, who is currently 29 years old, maintains a contractual relationship with the London club until 2027, including an automatic renewal clause conditioned on specific goals.
