A cold front is changing weather conditions in several parts of Brazil from September 1, 2026. The weather system, which begins to reduce the intensity of rain in the South, advances towards the Southeast and Central-West, bringing instability, winds and drops in temperature. While these regions face changes, other areas of the country are expected to maintain stable, sunny weather.
Impacts of the cold front in the southern region of the country
In the South region, the expectation is for a decrease in rain, especially during the early hours of September 1st. In Porto Alegre, the predicted maximum is 18ºC, and in Florianópolis, thermometers can reach 21ºC. Curitiba will also have rain and mild temperatures, reaching 20ºC.
Changes in the weather in the Brazilian southeast and central west
The cold front will continue its path, impacting the Southeast and Midwest. In São Paulo, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds, with the maximum temperature around 21ºC. In Mato Grosso do Sul, rain showers are expected, and the cloudiness should extend to Goiás and the Federal District, which may also record precipitation. Rio de Janeiro, in turn, will have sun in the morning and a chance of rain in the afternoon, with a maximum of 31ºC.
Climatic conditions in the northeast and part of northern Brazil
In contrast to the regions affected by the cold front, the Brazilian Northeast and some areas of the North should have predominantly sunny and warm weather. Cities like Aracaju and João Pessoa may experience brief showers of rain, but the sun and heat prevail. In Recife, the temperature can reach 30ºC, while Belém will have a maximum of 33ºC. In the North, rain is expected in the west of Amazonas, in Roraima and on the coast of Pará.
