Poco recently presented its new high-end smartphones, the Poco F9 Ultra and Poco F9 Pro, marking an evolution in the brand’s strategy. Significant advances in performance and processing

Both models in the Poco F9 series come equipped with cutting-edge processors to ensure robust performance. The Poco F9 Ultra incorporates Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the F9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series. Complementing these chips, Poco has added a separate VisionBoost D8 processor dedicated to managing artificial intelligence functions such as super-resolution and frame interpolation, allowing compatible games to reach up to 185 frames per second.

High definition screens and personality designs

The screens of new devices offer an immersive visual experience. The Poco F9 Ultra has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate, while the F9 Pro has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch screen, but maintaining the same refresh rate. Both panels use Poco’s HyperRGB technology and promise a peak brightness of 4,500 nits across larger areas of the screen.

Smartphone designs also feature unique elements. The F9 Ultra integrates a dynamic light on the back that activates for calls, notifications, games and music. The Aurora Green version of the F9 Pro features a full-panel luminous back, which glows after being exposed to light.

Impressive battery capacity and fast charging

Battery life is one of the biggest highlights of the line, especially in the Ultra model. The Poco F9 Ultra is equipped with an 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever included by Poco in an F series smartphone. The Poco F9 Pro, in turn, comes with a 6,330mAh cell, still considerable. Both devices support 100W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Improved sound quality with Bose partnership

Poco’s collaboration with Bose continues to elevate the audio experience. The Poco F9 Ultra stands out for including an independent subwoofer, working together with its stereo speakers to create a 2.1-channel audio setup. The Poco F9 Pro, although it lacks the subwoofer, offers symmetrical stereo speakers that have been tuned by Bose.

Advanced photography suite for different needs

Poco has also beefed up the camera department in its new series. Both phones feature the brand’s first 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), reportedly with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, plus a 32MP front camera for selfies.

For consumers in the United States, purchasing these devices may be more complex, as Poco does not officially sell its top-of-the-line models in the country. This means that those interested in the advanced features of the F9 Ultra, such as the 8,050mAh battery, the 5x zoom camera or the integrated subwoofer, would have to resort to importing.
