Nottingham Forest made the loan of defender Morato to West Ham official on September 1, 2026. The transfer of the Brazilian defender, who is looking for more playing time, is seen as a strategic move for the Hammers in the Championship race.
The Brazilian player’s transfer agreement is valid for one season, extending until June 2027, and includes a purchase option clause at the end of the period.
The arrival of the defender, who had his training in São Paulo’s youth categories, was a specific request from Portuguese coach Nuno Espírito Santo. The coach had already worked with Morato during his time at Nottingham Forest.
West Ham currently competes in the Championship, which corresponds to the second division of English football.
Morato, at 25 years old, was coveted by Italian teams like Roma and Torino. However, the athlete chose to continue his career in England, the country where he arrived in 2024 after spending five and a half seasons playing for Benfica, in Portugal.
