JBL revealed, on August 1, 2026, the new JBL Cove line of speakers, designed to bring music to different rooms in the house using Wi-Fi connectivity. The main proposal is to expand the range and functionality of audio compared to traditional Bluetooth, allowing multiple devices to reproduce sound synchronously in different environments. The advantage of Wi-Fi over Bluetooth is the stability of the connection, greater range and the possibility of maintaining playback even if the cell phone that started the transmission leaves the room or receives a call, in addition to allowing the management of different tracks in different spaces.

The family consists of the JBL Cove M1, Cove P1 and Cove X1 models. These devices can operate standalone, in stereo pair configurations, or integrated into a larger home audio system. Control of all devices is done through the JBL One app, which offers the option of selecting which rooms in the house will play the same musical content or different tracks.

One of the main differences between these new speakers, compared to the more common Bluetooth models, lies in the connection. As the equipment connects to the home Wi-Fi network, audio playback is not interrupted if the user’s cell phone moves away or receives a call. Furthermore, the technology allows different speakers to play the same music or different tracks simultaneously.

Even with the emphasis on Wi-Fi connectivity, the three models continue to offer Bluetooth as an alternative pairing option, ensuring versatility in use.

The new speaker series comes in three versions, each with different specifications to meet different needs. The JBL Cove M1, for example, is the most compact option in the family, combining two 30mm tweeters, a 20mm tweeter and a 4-inch woofer. This model, however, does not support Dolby Atmos and does not have an internal battery.

The JBL Cove P1 stands out as the portable alternative, equipped with a battery that guarantees up to 14 hours of continuous playback and IP56 protection against dust and water. The audio set includes three 30mm tweeters, a 20mm tweeter and a 4-inch woofer, as well as compatibility with Dolby Atmos technology.

The JBL Cove X1, in turn, is the most robust version, ideal for fixed use in homes. It comes standard with four 30 mm tweeters and two 4-inch woofers, and is also compatible with Dolby Atmos. This model is considered the most complete in the line in terms of speaker set.
