Stellantis, responsible for brands such as Fiat, Peugeot and Citroen, announced a recall for Jeep and Ram vehicles due to serious safety risks. Owners can schedule the service, which takes around 30 minutes and will be free of charge, from August 31, 2026. The official call was made on August 28, 2026, seeking to resolve possible flaws that affect the safety of occupants.

Owners of 1,472 units of the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon models, manufactured between 2022 and 2025, and Jeep Wrangler, from 2021 to 2025, must look for an authorized dealer. Intervention is necessary to check and correct potential problems with the electro-hydraulic steering pump of these vehicles.

A statement from Jeep warned that defects in the electrical circuit could lead to fires. Such occurrences have the potential to cause significant harm to vehicle occupants or people nearby.

Stellantis also summons Ram truck owners for belt repair

In addition to Jeep models, Stellantis called on owners of 5,810 Ram 1500 pickup trucks for an inspection. The automaker identified a possible flaw in the pickups’ rear seat belt attachment.

The manufacturer reported that the deficiency may result in a lack of adequate restraint for the vehicle’s occupants during sudden braking or in the event of an accident. The company highlighted that these situations can cause material and physical damage, with the risk of being fatal.

Identical problems have already caused fires in other global markets

In June 2026, Stellantis had announced a global recall involving more than 1.3 million Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. On that occasion, the call was related to the risk of fire due to an electrical connection in the power steering pump, but Brazil was not included, covering countries such as Mexico, Canada and the United States.

As a previous preventative measure, the company had recommended that owners park vehicles outdoors, away from buildings and other cars, until the repair was carried out. The automaker reported at least 72 fires and one injury related to this problem globally up to that period.
