Have you ever imagined turning your photos into a virtual clothing catalog on your cell phone? Google Photos presents an unprecedented feature that uses artificial intelligence to identify items, organize clothing and help create different combinations. This new feature not only allows you to assemble sets, but also gives you the option to try on looks virtually before deciding which outfit to use. Below, we detail how Google Photos Wardrobe works and how to take advantage of the new feature that integrates AI into fashion and personalization.

Understand how the Google Photos wardrobe works with artificial intelligence

Google Photos Wardrobe represents an innovative tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize and catalog the clothing in your images. The proposal aims to transform the photo gallery into a digital and interactive wardrobe, enabling the individual visualization of the pieces, their organization by type of clothing and the creation of multiple combinations. To build this collection, Google Photos analyzes images from the last four years, identifying clothing items in the library. This advancement reflects the growing trend of using AI to personalize experiences and simplify apparel management.

After creating the wardrobe, the user can choose different pieces to create sets, which can be saved and shared. The “Try on” function also allows you to view the looks virtually, offering the option of generating new results if you want other versions.

Find out how to set up your wardrobe directly on your cell phone

Activation of the Wardrobe is carried out through the Google Photos application, available for Android and iPhone iOS cell phones. After enabling the tool, the app will scan photos from your library to identify clothing items and add them to your new digital wardrobe. See the step-by-step instructions to configure:

First, open the Google Photos app on your phone and tap your profile image, located in the top right corner. Then look for the “Google Photos Settings” option.

On the settings screen, select the “Preferences” option to access settings related to how Google Photos works.

Within the “Preferences” section, locate the option titled “Organize the clothes that appear in your photos”.

Tap this option to activate the feature, authorizing Google Photos to identify and organize the clothing found in your images.

After activating the function, wait while Google Photos processes your library and identifies clothing items. The app will notify you when the process is complete and the Wardrobe is ready for use.

See your pieces and how to put together creative looks

Once you have your Wardrobe configured, you will be able to access the pieces identified by Google Photos and create looks directly through the application. The procedure is intuitive and allows you to view the clothes, try out combinations and save the results for future reference. Check out the guide:

When you finish creating your Wardrobe, the corresponding option will appear on the Google Photos app home page. Tap it to enter the feature.

On the Wardrobe screen, you will find the “Items” and “Looks” tabs. In the “Items” tab, you will be able to view the pieces that Google Photos identified in your photos, such as shirts, pants, sneakers and accessories.

Choose all the pieces you want to combine, then tap “Try on the look” to have Google Photos create a virtual version of the combination.

Wait while the application processes the images. The result may be available in a few seconds, depending on the complexity of the processing.

Once the look is ready, you can preview the result and choose to save it to your gallery or share it with friends.

The virtual results are created with high quality, making it easier to visualize the combinations.

After creating your looks, they will remain saved in the “Looks” tab on the main Wardrobe page. This way, you can access the created sets again whenever you want.

Which users can access Google Photos Wardrobe

Google Photos Wardrobe is gradually rolling out to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers, as well as select users. To access the functionality, you must have a valid Google Account, meet the minimum age required in the country or region and reside in Brazil, the United States or India.

For users who are not subscribers to AI Pro or AI Ultra, it is essential to have more than 1,000 personal photos in the library. In the case of Android devices, the cell phone must have the Android 10 operating system or a newer version.

In addition to these requirements, it is essential to have the “Groups of Faces” feature activated and a face photo selected in Google Photos.

Enabling or disabling the “Groups of Faces” feature can be done in Google Photos settings. To make this adjustment, follow the steps below:

Access Google Photos settings.

Search for “Group similar faces” and click “Show more”.

Activate the “Groups of Faces” option. To deactivate it, just follow the same path and turn off the feature.

Find out if digital looks take up storage space

Yes. Outfits created in Wardrobe, as well as results generated by the “Try On” function, are counted in your Google Account storage. Therefore, it is important to monitor available space, especially if the resource is used frequently.
