A residence in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, was the scene of a shocking incident on August 14 when a plumber, identified as Chen, came across a python in a sewer pipe. The professional was trying to resolve a persistent blockage in the kitchen, a problem that had previously challenged other technicians.
During the unblocking work, the technician opened the pipe and was surprised by a large amount of blood that gushed out. By mistake, the snake was hit and cut, resulting in the discovery of the animal’s already mutilated body outside the pipe.
Chen described the moment of discovery to the press. “After trying several methods without finding the cause of the blockage, I decided to open the water pipe to see what was blocking it,” said the professional about the unexpected situation.
The incident generated several interpretations, especially because it coincided with the first day of the seventh lunar month, a date that, in certain cultures, is associated with the “opening of the gates of hell”. Shaken by the incident, the plumber sought support in traditional rituals.
He reported acquiring sacrificial items and paper money, burning incense and performing prayers with the intention that the python would find its eternal rest, as per local beliefs to appease the event.
After the entire event, Chen instructed his team to bury the animal’s remains in an open area close to the site, ending the unusual episode.
