With origins in the Ecuadorian club’s youth categories, Angulo made his professional debut in the current season, quickly attracting the interest of teams on the European continent. In the year 2026, he participated in 21 games in various competitions, contributing with six goals scored and three assists. His recent performance demonstrates the young athlete’s relevance to Del Valle’s attack, especially before such an important challenge.
The Sunderland team made the signing official on the last day of the transfer window in England. The negotiation takes place just a few days before the first clash between Del Valle and Flamengo in the Libertadores. Due to his departure, Angulo will not be able to defend the Ecuadorian team in the quarter-final games.
