Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis returned to Lambrook School in Berkshire on September 9 to begin a new academic term. The return brought Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8, back to the classrooms where they have studied since 2022.

Tuition rates for the Berkshire prep school

Official tuition figures published by Lambrook show that Prince William and Kate Middleton pay £11,176, or $15,144, for Charlotte, along with £10,270, or $13,917, for Louis each term.

The school charges varying rates across different grade levels. Both royal children attend the institution as day pupils rather than full boarders. Overall costs at Lambrook can reach approximately $14,000 on an annual basis according to institutional estimates.

Campus facilities on the Berkshire estate

Lambrook occupies a 52-acre site in the countryside equipped with athletic grounds and specialized classrooms. The school provides students with a wide selection of extracurricular programs:

  • Indoor pool and a nine-hole golf course
  • Horse riding, fencing, polo, and scuba diving
  • Filmmaking, animation courses, and cooking lessons
  • Beehives and chickens on the grounds

Headmaster Jonathan Perry noted the arrival of the children during their initial enrollment period, stating that staff members looked forward to welcoming the family to the school community.

Academic relocations within the royal family

Kate Middleton and Prince William enrolled both children as day pupils at the Berkshire countryside campus after the family relocated their primary residence from London to Windsor to establish an educational environment that aligned with their household values. Prince George and Princess Charlotte previously studied at Thomas’s Battersea, attending that institution from 2017 and 2019 onward. Kensington Palace stated that the royal couple sought an institution capable of educating their children under consistent standards.

Lambrook accommodated all three siblings together for two years before structural changes arrived this term. Charlotte and Louis returned to Berkshire without their older brother.

Prince George steps into Eton College

Classes resumed on September 9.

Prince George, 13, began studies at Eton College on September 8 to enter the all-boys boarding institution. Kate Middleton wore a green Emilia Wickstead dress, while Prince William wore a black suit and blue tie when dropping off their eldest son in a dark blazer, blue button-down shirt, black chinos, and navy tie. Headmaster Simon Henderson and provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge greeted the family upon arrival at the campus gates.

When asked about his first day, George replied, “I’m ready.” Provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge accompanied the boy inside immediately after the exchange.
