Police in the Netherlands discovered the body of 43-year-old singer Ben Saunders at the Rijkerswoerdse Plassen recreational lake in southern Arnhem on September 16, 2026, with relatives confirming his passing as law enforcement ruled out foul play while keeping the cause of death undisclosed.

“My dear little brother has passed away. I have never experienced pain like this before,” his brother Dean Saunders wrote on Instagram while posting a picture of both as children. “What a terrible day for all of us. We have to learn to live with this, and I hope it is treated with respect.”

“Ben had a beautiful family and relatives who love him dearly,” Dean Saunders added regarding the loss. “I, too, will always love him; Ben is in my heart, and he will stay there forever.”

Saunders achieved national fame after winning the inaugural season of The Voice of Holland in 2011, with the single Kill For A Broken Heart becoming his most successful track. He released two studio albums. The artist followed his debut with You Thought You Knew Me by Now in 2011 and Heart & Soul in 2012.
