Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen started from the back of the grid against 100 rival drivers in Silverstone, England, on September 16, 2026. The Dutch competitor took part in the Max vs 100 exhibition race.
Although the regulations granted Verstappen an allotment of 30 laps or 75 minutes to pass every single opponent on the track, the Red Bull driver completed the sweep in just 14 laps and 35 minutes.
Under the competition rules, every rival that Verstappen overtook was instantly eliminated from the contest, while competitors held the advantage of taking a designated shortcut named quick lap during the opening half of the race to build their gap over the Red Bull driver. Only Verstappen retained permission to activate the shortcut across the final 15 laps. The Dutchman never needed it.
Verstappen climbed from 101st to 37th position on the opening lap before advancing to 18th place by lap four. He reached fifth place on lap eight while trailing the race leader by 12 seconds, subsequently moving into fourth three laps later.
On lap 15, Verstappen took the lead and eliminated all 100 competitors to end the contest inside 35 minutes, well ahead of the scheduled 50 laps.
