Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp announced a squad of 44 players on September 17, 2026, at the DFB Campus in Frankfurt for the upcoming international window. The selection splits the group into 24 footballers for the first two matches and 20 additional athletes for the remaining two fixtures.

Spanish sports publications described the decision as unprecedented madness while highlighting a revolution of 44 players split into two different teams for four international matches.
