The Brazilian Gymnastics Federation announced on September 18, 2026, the roster for preparatory camps ahead of the Rotterdam World Championships, summoning Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, and Arthur Nory to the European tour. Both Jade Barbosa and Julia Soares will miss this initial training phase due to recovery timelines.
These initial selections do not constitute the final traveling delegation bound for the Netherlands. Officials called eight female and eight male athletes to training camps, but only five competitors per gender will contest the championship that awards initial berths for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Three gymnasts from each category will serve as traveling reserves.
The women’s squad, which secured a team bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will conduct preparatory work in Amsterdam alongside Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, and Sophia Weisberg before four additional gymnasts join the camp on October 1. That second arrival group includes Carolyne Pedro, Julia Coutinho, Thais Fidelis, and senior debutant Gabriela Bouças.
Jade Barbosa opted out of the trip while resuming conditioning after the birth of her daughter Eva in November. Julia Soares continues rehabilitation for an injury sustained during the Brazilian Championship in August. The target remains 2027.
The men’s group will travel directly to the sports complex in Sangalhos, Portugal, where Arthur Nory, Caio Souza, Diogo Soares, Vitaly Guimarães, and Bernardo Miranda will launch acclimatization training. Teammates Johnny Oshiro, Patrick Correa, and Yuri Guimarães report to the facility on October 1, leaving Oshiro as the sole newcomer in this group without previous World Championship appearances.
Rotterdam will award automatic team qualifications for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games to the three countries that reach the podium. Another nine team spots per gender remain up for contention at the Baku tournament in 2027, when the international federation will also allocate individual invitations to nations lacking full squad representation.
