Alexander Zverev surpassed Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz on the all-time tennis prize money list on 13 September 2026 after winning the US Open in New York, becoming the fourth highest-earning player in the history of the sport.
The German secured $5.5 million in gross prize money by winning the championship, lifting his lifetime tournament total to $74 million. Sinner holds $69.5 million. Alcaraz stands right behind with career earnings of $64.9 million.
Members of the historic big three retain the top financial spots
Only the members of the traditional big three sit ahead of Zverev in the historical tennis standings. Novak Djokovic leads the ranking with $164.7 million, followed by Rafael Nadal at $134.9 million and Roger Federer at $130.5 million.
All listed sums represent gross amounts before mandatory taxes, team commissions and travel expenses reduce the final net payout received by the players.
Second career major trophy secured on hard courts in New York
Zverev captured the US Open crown on 13 September 2026. The world number 2 defeated Ben Shelton by 3 sets to 1, recording partial scores of 6/3, 7/6 (2), 5/7 and 6/2. The victory marked the first trophy for the German competitor at the New York Grand Slam.
The triumph gave Zverev the second Grand Slam singles title of his career. He earlier claimed the Roland Garros trophy in the same season by defeating Flavio Cobolli in the final.
