With ‘mother’s admiration’, Anne Hathaway praises Tom Holland and calls him her ‘dream son’
Renowned actress Anne Hathaway, who will play the mother of Tom Holland’s character in the highly anticipated film “The Odyssey”, directed by Christopher Nolan, expressed great pride in her co-star. The artist shared her feelings in a recent interview.
At 43 years old and expecting her third child with her husband Adam Shulman, Hathaway revealed, in conversation with CTV’s “e-talk” program, her desire for her own children to grow up and become as kind and gentle people as Tom Holland, her on-screen partner. Her speech adds a personal touch, revealing the genuine impression Holland made on her as an actress and as a mother.
During the interview, Anne and Tom were sitting next to each other when the reporter questioned the actress about how she incorporates her “motherly energy” into the epic film. In the plot, Hathaway plays Penelope, the mother of Telemachus, Holland’s character.
“First of all, I need to say that as a real-life mother, I really hope that all of my children grow up to be as wonderful as my on-screen son,” Hathaway said, pointing to Holland. The actor, visibly surprised and moved, almost choked on his drink at the unexpected compliment.
She continued, stating that “Tom is like a dream child.” For Hathaway, this connection with Holland is fundamental to the project: “And that, honestly, is kind of the key to everything. We have this incredible script, brilliant actors.”
With a smile, the actress concluded, expressing her affection for her colleague: “But besides that, I just like Tom a lot.”
