Xbox Game Pass revamps catalogs: Hogwarts Legacy and Ubisoft titles join Ultimate and Premium plans
Microsoft announced on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the addition of over 45 new games to Xbox Game Pass, distributed across the Essential, Premium, and Ultimate plans. The update aligns with the service’s recent overhaul, now offering broader libraries for consoles, PCs, and cloud gaming. Existing subscribers were automatically migrated to the new plans without service interruption.
This change aims to provide diverse options for different player profiles, focusing on major releases and remastered classics. The company highlighted that the total catalog exceeds 400 titles in the top-tier plan, including partnerships with Ubisoft and Epic Games.
The new games are immediately available on compatible devices like Xbox Series X|S, PCs, and via cloud streaming. The initiative addresses demands for greater flexibility, allowing users to choose plans suited to their gaming preferences.
Notable additions include Hogwarts Legacy and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in Ultimate, while Essential gains Cities: Skylines Remastered. Premium expands with Diablo IV and Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.
Highlights in the Ultimate plan
The Ultimate plan, now priced at $23.99 monthly, incorporates over 50 Ubisoft+ Classics titles, such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. This integration starts today, covering cloud, PC, and console.
Subscribers gain access to 75 day-one releases annually, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and The Outer Worlds 2. The total library surpasses 400 games, with perks like in-game items and Xbox rewards.
Starting November 18, the Fortnite Crew will be included, offering a Battle Pass and 1,000 V-Bucks monthly. This Epic Games partnership strengthens the cross-platform ecosystem.
Other additions include Far Cry Primal and Skull and Bones, optimized for Xbox Series X|S.
Exclusive additions in Premium
Over 40 games join the Premium plan, priced at $11.99 monthly, focusing on more than 200 titles for PC and console. Standouts like Frostpunk 2 and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 emphasize strategic gameplay and narrative.
The plan offers Xbox releases within a year, excluding franchises like Call of Duty. Classics like Warcraft III: Reforged and Quake III Arena enrich the catalog.
- Abiotic Factor: Sci-fi survival, available on cloud and Series X|S.
- Manor Lords: Medieval strategy in preview, exclusive to PC.
- Volcano Princess: Parenting simulator with RPG elements, for console and PC.
These options cater to players seeking variety without the full cost of Ultimate. Unlimited cloud access enables seamless multi-device sessions.
Accessible expansion in Essential
The Essential plan, at $8.79 monthly, adds four key titles, including Hades and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. These prioritize online multiplayer and unlimited cloud access, with a catalog of over 50 options.
Disney Dreamlight Valley offers casual simulation, while Cities: Skylines Remastered focuses on urban building. The plan includes basic Xbox rewards and in-game benefits.
This structure provides affordable entry to the service, with automatic migration for former Core subscribers. Microsoft emphasizes cross-device compatibility for broader inclusion.
Enhanced cross-platform benefits
All plans now unify access to console, PC, and cloud, removing platform barriers. Cloud streaming reaches up to 1440p on Ultimate, with reduced queues in Premium.
- Cloud Gaming fully rolled out across all tiers, no longer in beta.
- Online multiplayer included in Essential and higher plans.
- Xbox rewards offering up to 50,000 points annually in Ultimate.
These improvements aim to retain users, with over 35 million global subscribers. The overhaul reflects investments in partnerships like EA Play, already integrated.
Microsoft plans weekly title additions to keep the catalog dynamic. Subscribers can cancel or adjust plans via the Xbox app.
Strategic partnership integration
Ubisoft+ Classics expands Ultimate with 50 curated games, including Assassin’s Creed Unity and Watch Dogs. This no-cost addition starts today, covering cloud and console.
Partnerships like Epic’s introduce Fortnite Crew in November, adding $7.60 in monthly value. The focus on open ecosystems enables cross-play across devices.
These collaborations enhance perceived value, blending AAA and indie titles. Microsoft monitors feedback for future plan adjustments.
