Daniel Alves’ legal action against Dinorah for deviations during detention

Daniel Alves filed a lawsuit in Brazilian court against his ex-wife Dinorah Santa’Ana. The former player alleges that she withdrew funds from his bank accounts while he was imprisoned in Spain, between January 2023 and March 2024. The accusation focuses on transfers made by Dinorah, who acted as his attorney from 2012 to 2023.

Alves’ arrest took place in January 2023, on charges of sexual assault. He remained detained until March 2024, when he paid bail of 1 million euros. The Spanish case awaits final judgment.

Disputed transfer details

Alves states that R$7 million left the accounts between March and May 2023. Another R$25 million would have been transferred from 2019 to 2023. He asks for accountability on the destination of the amounts.

Dinorah denies wrongdoing. She presented more than 130 pages of conversations and proof.

Independently audited defense

Dinorah hired an external audit. The report confirms the allocation of R$ 25.4 million.

• R$10.8 million in payments for the couple’s children.
• R$4.2 million in expenses authorized by Alves.
• R$1.4 million transferred to her account, with express permission.

Only R$800,000 remained unproven. Alves and employee Natha had access to the accounts during the period.

History of legal disputes

Daniel and Dinorah divorced in 2012. She is the mother of his two children.

In 2023, Dinorah sued Alves for alimony. The process blocked 30% of the amounts he receives from São Paulo.
