3I/ATLAS achieves maximum activity with longest ionic tail ever recorded
The interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, the third object of this type identified by humanity, presents this November its most extensive and brightest ionic tail since its discovery in July 2025. The phenomenon occurs as the comet is increasingly closer to the interior Sol, increasing the release and ionization of gases.
