IOS 26.2 arrives with new customizations for lock screen, notifications and urgent reminders
Apple started releasing this Monday (1st) the final version of iOS 26.2 for all compatible iPhones. The update brings three features focused on customization and accessibility that expand options already present in the system. Users can download the update via Ajustes > Geral > Atualização from Software.
The package arrives less than two months after iOS 26 and focuses on specific improvements to the lock screen, notifications and Lembretes application. Todos models from the iPhone XR onwards receive the update simultaneously.
Expanded control on the lock screen clock
The Liquid Glass feature, introduced in iOS 26, now has more precise opacity adjustment.
The slider allows you to make the watch almost completely transparent or more opaque than in previous versions. The option only works when the clock style is set to “Glass” and is independent of the chosen font.
Users report that the extreme transparency adjustment creates a different visual effect, especially on wallpapers with strong colors.
Screen flash for notifications
The update includes a new alternative to the existing LED flash for alerts.
In Acessibilidade > Áudio and Visual > Flash to Alertas, the “Screen” option appears. Quando activated, the iPhone screen lights up completely for a fraction of a second when receiving notifications, even with the device locked.
- The feature can be used alone or combined with the rear camera flash.
- Works on any model compatible with iOS 26.2.
- It especially helps people with hearing impairment or in quiet environments.
The function maintains the screen’s original brightness after rapid flashing.
Urgent alarm in the Lembretes app
The Lembretes app gains the “Urgent” category for tasks with a set time.
When the reminder expires, it displays a persistent alarm on the lock screen, similar to the alarm clock. By default, the “Postpone” and “Stop” buttons appear.
In Ajustes > Aplicativos > Lembretes, the user can change “Postpone” to “Finish”.
This change marks the task as completed when the alarm ends, preventing it from remaining pending. The configuration is optional and can be changed at any time.
Other fixes included
iOS 26.2 also brings bug fixes and security improvements.
Apple lists more than 30 vulnerability patches in the official support document. Entre the problems resolved is a flaw that prevented CarPlay from working correctly in some vehicles.
The update weighs around 800 MB on most models and requires around 50% battery or charger connection for installation.
Availability and installation
All iPhones compatible with iOS 26 receive iOS 26.2 automatically.
- iPhone XR, XS and later
- iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)
- The entire iPhone 16 line
The download appears in Ajustes > Geral > Atualização of
