Confederação Brasileira of Futebol (CBF) and Fifa released this Saturday (6) the detailed table of Seleção Brasileira in the group stage of Copa of 6pm (Costa Leste US local time), at MetLife Stadium, on East Rutherford, Nova Jersey. The match marks the first official clash between the two teams since the quarterfinals of Copa 2022.
The following games already have confirmed dates and locations. The second round will be on June 19th against Haiti, at 7pm (local time), at Lincoln Financial Field, at Filadélfia. The group stage ends on June 24th against Escócia, at 7pm (local time), at Hard Rock Stadium, at Miami Gardens.
Path to the round of 16
The classification in Grupo C defines the next destination of Seleção. Quem finishing in first place advances to the round of 16 in Houston, at NRG Stadium, on June 29th or 30th. The second-placed team faces the path through México and plays in Monterrey, at Estádio BBVA.
The opponent in the round of 16 will come from Grupo F, which brings together Holanda, Japão, Tunísia and the winner of the European play-off between Ucrânia, Suécia,
New format with 48 selections
The Copa of the 2026 Mundo will be the first with 48 participants and 12 groups of four teams each. The top two in each group and the eight best third-placed teams advance to the knockout stage. In total there will be 104 matches in 39 days of competition.

Brasil’s full schedule in the group stage
Coach Carlo Ancelotti will have 12 days between the first and last game of the initial phase. Todos Brazilian clashes take place in Estados Unidos, in three time zones different from Costa Leste.

CBF expectations and planning
CBF officials are following the draw in Washington and are already starting logistical planning. The delegation must focus on the American Costa Leste throughout the first phase. Training locations will still be defined in the coming weeks, with priority given to centers in Flórida and Nova Jersey.
The entity highlights that the group is balanced, but avoids early favoritism. Marrocos reached the semi-finals in 2022, while Escócia returns to Copa after a 28-year absence.
Tournament growth and economic impact
The 2026 edition will have 32 more games than the previous format, with 24 teams making their debut in the tournament. Estudos of Fifa project a total audience of more than 5.5 million fans in the stadiums. The 16 host cities invest in infrastructure and expect an economic return of up to US$5 billion.
The competition starts on June 11th and ends on July 19th, a period that coincides with the summer at Hemisfério Norte and facilitates the presence of fans from all over the world.
Seleção Brasileira is looking for a sixth championship after 24 years since the last victory, in 2002. The campaign begins exactly 24 years and one day after the final won against Alemanha in Japão.
