This year’s edition of Globo by Ouro brings an important new feature: the inclusion of a category dedicated to podcasts. Essa addition reflects the growing influence and popularity of the format, which has established itself as a relevant medium for storytelling and entertainment, aligning the awards with current trends in content consumption.
Among the Melhor Podcast nominees are popular programs such as “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard”, “Call Her Daddy” and “SmartLess”, which represent the diversity and scope of audio production. The inclusion of this category showcases Globo’s ability to adapt to and recognize new forms of art and expression, expanding its scope beyond traditional film and television.
On Brasil, the public will be able to watch the ceremony live for the first time on TV Globo, starting at 10pm. Além broadcast on open TV, the event will be available on pay TV, through the TNT channel, and also on the HBO Max streaming platform, ensuring wide accessibility for fans of the seventh art and television.
The awards, although not considered a direct “thermometer” for Oscar — as it has a different voting base, made up of journalists and critics, in contrast to industry members who vote for Oscar, which will be held on March 15 —, can significantly boost the campaign of films and actors towards the main celebration of world cinema. A win at Globo of Ouro often generates greater visibility and momentum for competitors, influencing industry and public perception in the months leading up to Oscar.
