Xiaomi has started distributing its new system interface, HyperOS 3, prioritizing the Chinese market. The update is being released gradually for a significant number of devices from the Redmi and POCO lines, in addition to the brand’s tablets, consolidating a more unified and intelligent ecosystem. The big difference in this version is the deep integration of artificial intelligence tools and performance optimizations, aiming for a more fluid and intuitive user experience.

The company’s implementation strategy covers different bases of the Google operating system. The latest and most powerful models receive HyperOS 3 built on Android 16, ensuring access to the most advanced technologies. In return, select mid-range devices are updated based on Android 15, an approach that allows you to extend new features to a wider audience without compromising the stability of each model’s specific hardware.

This batch release, known as OTA (Over-the-Air), allows the company to actively monitor feedback from early users. Real-time data analysis makes it possible to identify and correct any errors before the update reaches a larger consumer base, ensuring a safer transition and improving the overall experience with smoother animations and more accurate touch response.

Innovations brought by artificial intelligence

HyperOS 3 stands out for its massive incorporation of AI resources, created to simplify everyday tasks and make interaction with your smartphone more proactive. One of the most notable tools is the gallery editor, which now uses advanced algorithms to identify and remove unwanted objects or people from photographs with high precision, as well as allowing you to create artistic portraits and automatically improve image quality. The system also improves intelligent writing functions, suggesting texts and responses in emails and messages, and takes real-time automatic translation to a new level of accuracy, better understanding the context of online conversations and searches. Outra highlighted functionality is HyperIsland, a dynamic and discreet area at the top of the screen that displays important contextual information, such as the progress of a delivery, the waiting time for an application car or music controls, without the user having to switch between applications, optimizing multitasking and quick access to relevant data.

Performance optimization and battery management

In addition to the visible features, HyperOS 3 brings significant improvements to the internal structure of the operating system, focused on performance and energy efficiency. The update features a restructured kernel and an optimized file management system, which together work to reduce latency, speed up application launches and make running heavy tasks, such as gaming and video editing, more agile. The graphics rendering engine has also been improved, providing smoother, more fluid animations and screen transitions, while touch response calibration has been refined to ensure more immediate and accurate interaction.

Regarding autonomy, the new system adopts an intelligent approach to energy management. Utilizando AI, HyperOS 3 learns the device owner’s usage patterns over time, dynamically allocating processing and memory resources. Isso means that applications running in the background consume less energy, as the system prioritizes tasks that are in the foreground. The result is continuous optimization that can lead to a noticeable increase in battery life after the first few days of adapting the system to the individual usage profile.

Expanded compatibility with the Apple ecosystem

Recognizing that many of its customers use devices from different brands, Xiaomi has deepened HyperOS 3 interoperability with Apple products. Essa strategic integration aims to create a more cohesive experience for those who move between the two ecosystems.

One of the new capabilities allows you to mirror the Xiaomi smartphone screen directly on an iPad. Além Furthermore, it is possible to open cell phone applications in separate windows on a Mac, facilitating workflows that require the use of multiple operating systems simultaneously.

Convenience has been expanded with the ability to use the Face ID or Touch ID from an iPhone or iPad to unlock the Xiaomi smartphone. The Touch to Share functionality for fast file transfer between devices has also been improved, ensuring that all data exchanges between platforms are protected by robust security protocols.

First devices to receive the update

The first wave of HyperOS 3 distribution at China covers an extensive list of popular models, serving different market segments. Entre smartphones, the update is now available for the Redmi K60, Pro, The POCO M6 Pro was also included in this initial batch.

When it comes to tablets, Xiaomi focused on its high-performance models for the start of the rollout. The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max 14 were the first to be considered. The company reinforces that each device receives a specific version of the system (build), identified by a unique code, to ensure full compatibility with its hardware components and avoid instability problems.

Guidelines for safe installation

To ensure that the update process runs smoothly, Xiaomi has issued some important recommendations to users. The main one is to make a complete backup of all personal data, such as photos, videos, contacts and documents, before starting the installation, as a fundamental precautionary measure.

The company informs that it is normal for the device to experience moderate heating and battery consumption slightly higher than usual in the first hours or days after the update. Esse behavior is expected as the system is running optimizations in the background.

To check availability, users must access the settings menu, go to “About phone” and look for the “System updates” section. The gradual release means that the update may not appear for all eligible models at the same time.

It is worth noting that the availability of all new features may vary depending on the hardware of each device. Older or mid-range Modelos may not receive some of the more advanced AI functionality, although they will still benefit from general system performance and security optimizations.

Revamped and more customizable interface

HyperOS 3 also introduces a visual refresh to the user interface, with a focus on customization and modernity. The lock screen, for example, has been completely redesigned and now offers multiple styles, fonts and widgets, allowing users to configure a unique look that reflects their personality.

System icons and fonts have also been updated, adopting a cleaner, more minimalist design. Essas visual changes contribute to a more pleasant and cohesive browsing experience, aligning the aesthetics of all devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem.

Expected global launch

Currently, the HyperOS 3 update is restricted to the Chinese market. Contudo, Xiaomi have already confirmed that global versions of the system are in an advanced testing phase. The international launch is expected to begin in the first months of 2026, although an official schedule by region has not yet been released by the company.
