Volvo Cars Brasil has officially announced the arrival of the most powerful version of its compact electric SUV, the EX30 Ultra Twin Motor Performance. The model, which is now available at the brand’s dealerships across the country, sets a new performance standard for the Swedish manufacturer in the national market, delivering a combined power of 428 horsepower.

With a mechanical package that allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, the EX30 in this configuration becomes the fastest accelerating vehicle ever sold by Volvo in the Brasil. The suggested price for the new version is R$309,950, positioning it as a competitive option in the premium electric segment.

The introduction of the dual-engine model reinforces the brand’s electrification strategy, which seeks to expand its portfolio of zero-emission vehicles and meet a growing demand for performance combined with sustainability. The configuration guarantees permanent all-wheel drive, optimizing safety and drivability in different road conditions.

Cutting-edge performance and engine

The heart of the Volvo EX30 Ultra Twin Motor is its drivetrain, which combines two electric motors, one positioned on each axle. Juntos, they generate 428 horsepower and an instantaneous torque of 543 Nm. Essa architecture not only provides all-wheel drive (AWD) but also allows intelligent and immediate power distribution, resulting in vigorous starts and agile speed recoveries.

Despite its sports car performance, the Volvo maintains its historic focus on safety. The SUV’s top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h, a policy adopted by the company on all its vehicles to reduce the risk of serious accidents. The weight of 1,850 kg is well distributed, and the low center of gravity, provided by the battery in the floor, contributes to exemplary stability in curves and quick maneuvers.

Autonomy and charging solutions

Equipped with a battery pack with a total capacity of 69 kWh (65 useful kWh), the EX30 Twin Motor offers a range of up to 316 kilometers, in accordance with the PBEV test cycle (Program Brasileiro of Etiquetagem Veicular). In urban use conditions, where the regenerative braking system is more active, it is possible that the real range exceeds this mark.

The vehicle was designed to adapt to different charging infrastructures. Ele supports fast direct current (DC) charging of up to 153 kW, which allows you to recover from 10% to 80% of the battery charge in approximately 30 minutes, ideal for stops on trips.

For daily use, alternating current (AC) recharging can be done at stations up to 11 kW. Under Nessas conditions, a full charge takes between six and seven hours. Volvo also offers a wallbox as a courtesy when purchasing the vehicle, facilitating the installation of a charging point at the customer’s home.

Interior with minimalist design and technology

The EX30’s interior follows the Scandinavian design philosophy, characterized by simplicity, functionality and the use of sustainable materials. Grande part of the coverings are produced from recycled sources, such as PET bottles and fishing nets, reinforcing the brand’s environmental commitment.

The dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch vertical central screen, which contains all vehicle information and infotainment system controls. Essa approach eliminates the need for a traditional instrument panel behind the steering wheel, creating a cleaner, more spacious environment.

The audio system is another highlight, designed by Harman Kardon, which includes an integrated soundbar along the entire base of the windshield. Essa innovative solution distributes sound more evenly throughout the cabin. Connectivity is ensured by the integrated Google operating system, with access to applications such as Google Maps and Google Assistant for voice commands.

The top-of-the-line Ultra version adds comfort items such as a fixed panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats and heating system, as well as an induction smartphone charger. The absence of a head-up display is a global design decision by the brand, aiming to keep the driver’s focus on the road.

Security as a pillar of the brand

Volvo equipped the EX30 with a robust suite of active and passive safety technologies. The body structure uses ultra-high-strength steel to protect occupants in the event of a collision, while the battery is housed in a safety cage to prevent damage and fire risks.

Among the driver assistance systems, the Pilot Assist stands out, which offers semi-autonomous driving on roads, controlling acceleration, braking and lane keeping. The model also has a 360° camera with 3D vision, forward collision warning with automatic braking for cars, pedestrians and cyclists, and blind spot monitoring.

Positioning in the Brazilian market

Priced at R$309,950, the EX30 Ultra Twin Motor is positioned in a competitive niche of premium electric SUVs. Ele competes directly with models from German and Chinese brands that operate in the same price range. The Volvo strategy is to offer a complete package of equipment and superior performance to attract consumers looking for an electric vehicle without giving up sportiness.

The EX30 line in the Brasil is completed with the entry-level version Plus Single Motor Extended Range, with 272 hp and rear-wheel drive, starting at R$239,950, and the version

Detailed technical specifications

The EX30 is a compact SUV with dimensions that favor urban use without sacrificing interior space. Ele measures 4,233 mm long, 2,023 mm wide (with mirrors) and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The suspension is independent on all four wheels, with a multilink system on the rear axle for greater comfort and dynamic precision. The 20-inch wheels are equipped with Goodyear 245/40 R20 tires. The trunk has a capacity of 318 liters, which can be expanded to 904 liters with the rear seats folded down, as well as a small 7-liter front compartment for storing cables.

Electrification strategy

The launch of the Twin Motor version of the EX30 is another step by Volvo towards its global goal of becoming a 100% electric car manufacturer by 2030. The model, built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform developed in partnership with
