Apple is developing one of the biggest visual and technological transformations for its line of smartphones with the future launch of the iPhone 18. The main new features focus on a partially transparent design, inspired by the brand’s classics, and the complete elimination of the Dynamic Island’s cutout, which will be replaced by an advanced front camera technology positioned under the screen. Essa new generation promises not only an aesthetic renewal, but also substantial improvements in the camera system, processor performance and battery life, consolidating the company’s position in the premium segment.

Despite the significant changes to the front and rear design, the new devices must maintain the already established screen sizes, with 6.3 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max version. The rear camera module, although with important internal updates, must preserve an appearance similar to the previous generation, maintaining the visual identity of the line and the familiarity that users already have with the brand’s devices. These innovations are expected to represent a striking design leap, combining nostalgic appeal with cutting-edge technology to stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

The set of updates aims to create a product that not only improves functionality, but also visually differentiates itself. In a scenario where aesthetics have become a crucial factor in consumers’ purchasing decisions, Apple seeks to reinforce its legacy of innovation in industrial design, while introducing features that redefine the smartphone usage experience. The integration of hardware and software will be fundamental to the success of these implementations, which directly depend on the processing capacity of the new A20 Pro chip.

A design that rescues the legacy of Apple

The inspiration for the new look of the iPhone 18 Esses products stood out for their colorful and semi-transparent bodies, which revealed part of their internal components. The company’s strategy seems to be to evoke nostalgia for the era of Steve Jobs, a period in which Apple established itself as a reference in design. Essa approach seeks to create an emotional connection with the brand’s oldest consumers, while at the same time presenting an innovative concept for new generations who have not experienced this emblematic phase of the company.

The main aesthetic novelty will be a transparent glass area on the back of the device, located in the region of the MagSafe charging ring. Essa window will allow you to view some internal components, such as the wireless charging coil and other circuits, creating a distinct and technical visual effect. The integration of this element represents an engineering challenge, requiring a meticulous internal arrangement to ensure that the appearance is sophisticated and not just a random display of parts, while maintaining the characteristic elegance of Apple products and the durability expected by users.

The end of Dynamic Island and the screen of the future

One of the most anticipated transformations in the 2026 Pro line is the definitive elimination of the cutout known as Dynamic Island, introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro. The Apple is in the advanced testing phase of a solution that positions the selfie camera directly under the screen, making it practically invisible when not in use.

This technological change will allow a significant increase in the display viewing area. Initial Estimativas point to a gain of approximately 5% compared to current models, providing a much more immersive content consumption experience, such as videos and games, with no visual interruptions at the top of the screen.

In addition to the front camera, the sensors necessary for the Face ID facial recognition system will also be located under the display. With this, the Apple takes an important step towards a smartphone with a truly infinite screen, postponing the arrival of a completely borderless display to future generations, but solving one of the main design complaints of recent years.

Main camera with variable aperture technology

The iPhone 18 Pro’s camera system will receive significant upgrades, notably the introduction of a main sensor with variable aperture, a technology that offers unprecedented control over light input and depth of field. Essa functionality, already present in competing devices from brands such as Samsung and Huawei, will allow users to manually adjust the lens aperture in a range from f/1.4 to f/2.0. In practice, a larger aperture, such as f/1.4, is ideal for low-light conditions, as it allows you to capture more information and reduce noise, as well as creating a more natural background blur (bokeh) in portraits. On the other hand, a smaller aperture, such as f/2.0, is useful for landscape or group photography, where you want to keep a larger area of the image in focus. Além of this new feature, the telephoto module should support 48 MP resolution with 5x optical zoom, while the ultra-wide lens will receive an improved stabilization system for more stable photos and videos. The ability to record 8K video at 60 frames per second is also a real possibility, driven by the processing power of the upcoming A20 Pro chip.

Power and efficiency with the A20 Pro chip

Many of the new features, especially improvements in image and video processing, will be powered by the A20 Pro chip. Este new processor, manufactured using a 2 nanometer process, promises a significant leap in performance and energy efficiency.

The greater density of transistors will allow the chip to perform artificial intelligence and machine learning tasks more quickly. Isso is crucial for functions like Modo Cinema, computational photography, and future integrations with the operating system.

Advancement in the manufacturing process not only increases raw processing capacity but also optimizes energy consumption. The direct result of this optimization is longer battery life, even with the addition of more demanding features.

The new operating system, which should accompany the hardware launch, will be iOS 27, designed to take full advantage of the new chip architecture and the artificial intelligence capabilities embedded in the device.

Battery and cooling system optimization

The autonomy and longevity of the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be reinforced by the use of a battery with a stainless steel casing, which will replace the aluminum one used in previous models. Essa structural change not only increases impact resistance by approximately 20%, but also improves heat dissipation by approximately 15%, allowing the device to maintain peak performance for longer during intensive tasks such as gaming or video editing.

Technical feasibility and new launch strategy

The implementation of a partially transparent back raises questions about durability and signal interference. However, sources linked to the production chain claim that the prototypes have already undergone rigorous testing and that the construction does not affect the reception of telephone signals, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, thanks to the use of layers of filters and specialized materials permeable to radio waves.

IP68 certification for protection against water and dust will also be maintained, ensuring the device’s robustness in daily use. Além In addition, Apple can adopt a new calendar strategy, separating the presentation of the Pro models from the more accessible models, in order to give individual prominence to each product category and optimize production chains.
