Stellantis officially announced the arrival of the 2026 Jeep Compass Blackhawk line, which now features an important mechanical update. The top-of-the-line version of the medium SUV is now equipped with the Hurricane 2.0 turbo engine in flex configuration, capable of being fueled with both ethanol and gasoline, a long-standing demand in the Brazilian market. The model is now available at the brand’s dealerships across the country with a suggested price of R$274,290.

Developed by the Stellantis engineering team in the América of the Sul, the new engine maintains an impressive 272 horsepower and 40.8 kgfm of torque, regardless of the fuel used in the tank. With this change, the Jeep reinforces the competitiveness of the Compass in the fierce SUV segment, offering yet another versatile and economical option to consumers.

The sporting performance, one of the hallmarks of the Blackhawk version, remains unchanged. The vehicle maintains the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, combining performance with the 4×4 on-demand traction system, which guarantees safety and grip on different types of terrain.

Details of the new Hurricane flex engine

So that the Hurricane 2.0 turbo engine could operate on ethanol, the Stellantis engineers made specific adaptations to the mechanical assembly. The modifications were comprehensive and included the implementation of a new fuel injection system, with reinforced components such as high-pressure pumps, special spark plugs and higher-flow injection nozzles, designed to withstand the corrosive nature and different burning characteristics of ethanol.

In addition to the hardware changes, the calibration of the nine-speed automatic transmission has also been revised. The objective was to optimize gear changes and torque management to ensure a smooth and efficient response with both fuels. Essa reprogramming ensures that power and torque delivery is identical to the previous version, which was powered exclusively by gasoline, providing a consistent and vigorous driving experience.

Performance and fuel consumption

The Jeep Compass Blackhawk 2026 continues to stand out for its agile performance, being one of the fastest options in its category. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds is a figure that puts it on par with sports-oriented vehicles, offering an exciting drive both in urban areas and on highways. On-demand 4×4 traction, with the Jeep Active Drive Low system, complements the package, intelligently distributing torque between the axles to maximize traction in low-grip conditions, such as wet surfaces or dirt roads.

Fuel consumption data, measured by Programa Brasileiro of Etiquetagem Veicular (PBEV) of Inmetro, was also released. Quando fueled with ethanol, the SUV records averages of 6 km/l in the urban cycle and 7.8 km/l on the highway cycle. With gasoline, the numbers rise to 8.5 km/l in the city and 11 km/l on the highway. Esses values position the Blackhawk as an efficient option within the high-performance medium SUV segment, balancing power and consumption appropriately.

Complete list of standard equipment

The Blackhawk version remains the most complete in the Compass line, offering an extensive list of comfort, technology and convenience items. The model leaves the factory with an electric panoramic sunroof, which increases the feeling of space and light in the cabin.

The external look is complemented by 19-inch alloy wheels with a darkened finish and Full LED headlights with automatic switching on and high beam switching. Essa technology significantly improves nighttime visibility and safety.

Internally, the SUV has a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel, which is configurable and displays various vehicle information. The Uconnect multimedia center has a 10.1-inch screen with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other standard items include an electronic parking brake, a face-to-face key with push-button start, electric trunk opening with presence sensor and leather seats with the Blackhawk logo embroidered on the front backrests, reinforcing the exclusivity of the version.

Safety and driver assistance technologies

One of the biggest differentiators of the Jeep Compass Blackhawk is its robust package of driver assistance technologies (ADAS). The system includes adaptive cruise control (ACC), which automatically adjusts the speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, even working in heavy traffic situations with the Stop&Go function.

The vehicle is also equipped with autonomous emergency braking, which detects pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, and can prevent collisions or mitigate their effects. Esse feature is essential for safety in urban environments.

The package completes the blind spot monitoring, which alerts you to the presence of vehicles in areas that are difficult to see, and the lane keeping assistant, which actively corrects the steering wheel trajectory if the car leaves its lane unintentionally. Esses features contribute to safer and more comfortable driving, especially on long journeys.

Design and interior finish

The external design of the Compass Blackhawk 2026 remains faithful to the visual identity that established the model, without significant changes compared to the previous line. The version stands out for its aesthetic details that give it a more sporty and aggressive appearance. The blacked-out finish is present on the 19-inch wheels, brand emblems and front grille, while red-painted brake calipers add a touch of sportiness. The SUV maintains its dimensions, measuring 4.40 meters long, 1.81 meters wide and with a wheelbase of 2.63 meters, offering good internal space for five occupants. The trunk has a capacity of 410 liters, suitable for the needs of a family. The cabin stands out for its refined finish, with high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces on the dashboard and doors. The leather-covered seats have contrasting stitching and the version’s exclusive embroidery on the backrests, creating a sophisticated and welcoming environment.

Market positioning and strategy of Jeep

With the introduction of the flex engine, the Compass Blackhawk consolidates its position as one of the most complete and desired options in the premium medium SUV segment. The price of R$274,290 reflects the robust equipment package, high-performance motorization and onboard technologies, targeting consumers who seek exclusivity and performance without giving up practicality for daily use.

This update is a strategic move by Jeep to adapt to the preferences of the Brazilian market, where flex vehicles represent the vast majority of sales. The expectation is that the Hurricane 2.0 turbo flex engine will be gradually introduced in other Stellantis models, such as the Jeep Commander and the Ram Rampage pickup truck, expanding the reach of the technology.

4×4 capability and versatility

Versatility is a pillar of the Jeep brand, and in the Compass Blackhawk this is guaranteed by the Jeep Active Drive Low traction system. Ele operates on demand, sending torque to the rear wheels automatically when it detects loss of grip, which increases safety on slippery surfaces and allows light off-road forays with greater confidence.
