Technology giant Microsoft has implemented a complete overhaul of its digital gaming ecosystem, changing the way users access its entertainment catalog. The company’s subscription service now operates through a tripartite model, designed to meet different consumer profiles and expand the reach of the platform beyond traditional hardware, encompassing consoles, computers and mobile devices in a unified strategy.

This new business architecture replaces the previous model and aims to consolidate the brand’s presence in the global game streaming and downloads market. The transition to the new structure occurs automatically for the already active user base, ensuring that benefits are maintained or expanded according to the category corresponding to the old plan, without the need for manual intervention on the part of subscribers.

Entry plan details and costs

The initial category, called Essential, was established with a monthly value of R$43.90, serving as the gateway to the brand’s universe. Este level was designed for players who prioritize value for money, but do not give up fundamental features such as online multiplayer mode, essential for competitions and cooperative experiences.

The bundle includes a rotating selection of over 50 titles, spanning critical hits like Hades and simulation experiences like Cities: Skylines Remastered. Além In addition, cloud gaming technology is released for this category, allowing access to games via streaming on smartphones and tablets, eliminating the hardware barrier for new consumers.

Catalog expansion at the intermediate level

For those looking for a larger library, the Premium category offers a collection of more than 200 games, compatible with console and PC. The curation of this plan focuses on major industry productions, making high-budget titles such as Hogwarts Legacy and Diablo IV available, in addition to keeping the company’s classic franchises permanently accessible.

Subscribers at this level participate in an enhanced rewards system, with the ability to accumulate high scores that can be converted into products or credits in the digital store. The strategy reinforces continuous engagement, encouraging the exploration of independent games and major releases that make up the service.

Exclusive benefits and strategic partnerships

The most advanced level, called Ultimate, is positioned as the definitive offer with a monthly fee of R$119.90. The Este plan not only encompasses the entire collection of more than 400 games, but also guarantees immediate access to releases on opening day, including highly anticipated productions such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The big difference in this category lies in the integration of partner services, adding substantial value to the monthly subscription through external benefits:

  • Access to the Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue, with renowned franchises such as Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.
  • Inclusion of Clube Fortnite, guaranteeing the current Passe of Batalha and a monthly quota of 1,000 V-Bucks.
  • Possibility of running games purchased outside the catalog via the cloud.
  • Priority on “Day One” releases from partner and own studios.

Evolution of cloud infrastructure

The restructuring follows the maturation of Xbox Cloud Gaming, which ends its testing phase to operate as a main service. Apoiada on Azure servers, the technology promises low latency and high visual fidelity, transforming Smart TVs and mobile devices into robust gaming platforms, independent of dedicated consoles.

This bet on the cloud reflects a calculated move to compete directly with other forms of on-demand entertainment. By removing the need for heavy local processing, the company democratizes access to next-generation games by allowing graphics processing to occur remotely in the company’s data centers.
